Vincent Buckley (1927–1988) was an
Australia npoet ,teacher , editor, andcritic . He was born inRomsey , Victoria and was educated at both theUniversity of Melbourne and theUniversity of Cambridge . Between 1967 and 1979, he lived for periods in
Ireland where he founded the Committee for Civil Rights.He was the Lockie Fellow at the University of Melbourne from 1958 to 1960 and , in 1967, he held a personal Chair in
