Screwball is a
New York City hip hop group, with members Hostyle, KL, Blaq Poet, & Solo. Their debut "Y2K The Album " was released in2000 onTommy Boy Records . The album yielded two singles; "H-O-S-T-Y-L-E" and the surprising and virtually unbroadcastable "F.A.Y.B.A.N." (Otherwise known as "Fuck All You Bitch Ass Niggas"). The album's production was handled mostly byNew York City greats such asPete Rock ,Godfather Don &DJ Premier . Their second album "Loyalty" followed in 2001 onLandspeed Records and "Screwed Up ", a compilation of new and old material followed in 2004 onHydra Entertainment . Member KL died in 2008 of anasthma attack.Members
Blaq Poet
Poet was best known for his attack on
KRS-One in the 1987 song "Beat You Down". "Without Warning" is a Hip-Hop album from the duo Poet and Hot Day which was released on August 31, 1991 onTuff City Records . This was their only release and the two only released two singles "I'm Flippin" and "Pandemonium". The album wasn't well known, but "Poet's" lyrical flow and crime stories makes the album have its highlights. It has one guest on the song "Set It Off" which features a young Cormega and "Poet" also tells his story about crime on songs like "Dark Side" and "The Showdown".Blaq Poet's debut solo album "Rewind: Deja Screw" was released in
2006 and featured several songs produced by DJ Premier and featuring Big Shug and Teflon. He is currently signed toDJ Premier 's label "Year Round Records". KL appeared on the
