comments =The Ribbon Ridge AVA is an
American Viticultural Area in Yamhill County,Oregon . It is the smallest AVA inOregon and is entirely contained within theChehalem Mountains AVA , which in turn is entirely contained within the largerWillamette Valley AVA . Ribbon Ridge stretches between the towns of Newberg and Gaston. The ridge is defined by local geographic boundaries and an uplift of ocean sediment. It lies at 45° 21' N latitude and 123° 04' W longitude, at the northwest end of theChehalem Mountains . The name originates in the 19th century.Fact|date=February 2007 The ridge is approximately convert|0.25|mi|km|2 wide and convert|3.50|mi|km|2 long, and is convert|3350|acre|km2|0 in area, with convert|500|acre|ha|0 planted on 20 vineyards. It is estimated that between convert|1000|acre|km2|0 and convert|1400|acre|km2|0 in the region is suitable for planting.
