Eric 'Booty' Butorac (born 22 May 1981 in Rochester, Minnesota) is an American tennis player. He is a doubles specialist, and has achieved some success in partnership with Britain's Jamie Murray. He was nicknamed 'Booty' by partner Murray.

Family

Eric's parents, Jan and Tim Butorac, are directors of the Rochester Tennis Connection (Indoor & Outdoor site) in Rochester, Minnesota. He also has a brother named Jeff Butorac who is the Assistant tennis coach to the University of Eau Claire Womens tennis team. Tim is also a USPTA Professional. He teaches tennis at the Rochester Indoor Tennis Club during the winter and at the Kutzky Tennis Center during the summer months.

Recent Activity

In July 2006 Butorac and Murray reached their first ATP Tour doubles final, in Los Angeles, losing in straight sets to the Bryan brothers who were the world's top-ranked doubles team.

In early February 2007 the US-Scots pair claimed their first doubles title in a Challenger event in Dallas, [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/6352975.stm "Jamie Murray wins doubles title"] ] and a week later they won their first ATP title at the SAP Open. [ [http://www.sapopentennis.com/news/news.asp?story_id=202 "San Jose Continues To Be Kind To Murray"] (last paragraph)] They continued their winning run the following week when, on February 25, 2007, the unseeded pair defeated No. 2 seeds Julian Knowle and Jurgen Melzer 7–5, 6–3, to capture the doubles title of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships at the Racquet Club of Memphis.

Butorac is currently partnering Ashley Fisher. They have yet to play a tournament together as Fisher was injured for the first part of the season and their combined ranking was not high enough to enter the Masters Series Events. Butorac played Indian Wells with Scotland's Andy Murray and they upset Martin Damm and Pavel Vizner in the first round in straight sets. Recently, Butorac won his first title of 2008, by winning the Countrywide Classic in Los Angeles with partner Rohan Boponna of India.
