Rand Beers is a former American
counterterrorism adviser who served on the National Security Council under U.S. PresidentsRonald Reagan ,George H.W. Bush ,Bill Clinton , andGeorge W. Bush . He also served asAssistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs under both President Clinton and President George W. Bush. Beers resigned in protest from the NSC inMarch 2003 , five days before commencement of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.In June 1996, Beers was informed by the FBI that the
People's Republic of China might be trying to funnel money into U.S. election campaigns. Beers later claimed he did not report the information about the China money controversy to President Clinton or his National Security Advisor because FBI agents asked that he not share information from the briefing with them.
