Belmont is an electoral ward of East Belfast.

2001 Census

On Census Day (29 April 2001 the resident population of Belmont ward was 6025. Of this population:

* 20.6% were under 16 years old and 22.4% were aged 60 and above;
* 47.1% of the population were male and 52.9% were female; and
* 3.9% were from a Catholic Community Background and 89.6% were from a 'Protestant and Other Christian (including Christian related)' Community Background.
