Sukhinichi

Sukhinichi ( _ru. Сухи́ничи) is a town in Kaluga Oblast, Russia, a large railway junction on the Moscow–Bryansk line, 105 km southwest of Kaluga. The town is located on the Bryn River. Population: 16,387 (2002 Census); 17,762 (1989 Census).

It was founded as a village ("selo") in the first half of the 18th century. It was granted town status in 1840. It has grown mainly due to the development of the railway.
