- Leefdaal
Leefdaal is a small town in central
Belgium , in theFlemish Brabant . It is locally notorious for the football club "Leefdall Vooruit", whose major rivals areBertem .The club has successfully defeated many sides including
Stade Leuven , Bertem, Vossem Greunjotters, Terverun All-Star, Moorsel,Meerbeek and many more. The club is particularly welcoming to English expats, and the coach Bjorn is one of the toughest yet kindest coaches in the history of Belgian football.English players include
Duncan Roxburgh , John Holmes,Mark Wrigley, the Hayers brothers, Andy Evans and James Harrison. However the most famous are the Sudworth brothers, Oliver and Jordan. Oliver scored an astonishing 4 goals in his debut, and Jordan was known for his bullet-headers (and was playing against opponents 4 years older than him!). Brought up by Keith and Dawn Sudworth, they became very successful in the Belgian league. These footballing days were the best of their lives. However, it all ended when Bjorn was sacked for picking the English over the Belgians, in bitter jealousy. The Leefdaal days ended, and the Sudworth brothers left. They now reside in
Greater Manchester .
