Wickham Bishops is a village in Essex, England.

Transport

Roughly three miles from the town of Witham (which has a mainline train station on the National Express East Anglia line). Also at Witham is access to the main A12 road that runs through Essex.

Wickham Bishops is a popular village for London-bound rail commuters as well as those who work in the nearby towns of Chelmsford and Colchester.

Local Amenities

Wickham Bishops has a village hall (constructed in 2005), playing fields, a library, tennis courts, a hairdresser, health food shop, estate agent, a One Stop local shop/off licence and two public houses (pubs) - The Mitre and The Chequers.

Parish Church

There is one parish church - St Bartholomew's. The clock on the steeple was converted to electronic mechanism in June 2008(previously being wound by hand).

Drama Club

There is a drama club called 'Wickham Bishops Drama Club' which puts on productions at the village hall. The pantomime in early 2008 was 'Sleeping Beauty'. The Spring Play is 'Goodnight Mrs Puffin' and was on at the village hall on Friday 11th & Saturday 12th April 2008.

The parish magazine is published monthly and is delivered free of charge to houses in the village. Regular inclusions are:
