Elisabeth Röhm (born April 28, 1973) is a German-born American television actress, best known for playing Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn on the television drama "Law & Order", a role she played from 2001 to 2005.

Biography

Röhm was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, but then moved to New York City before reaching her first birthday and later lived in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Her father, Eberhard Röhm, was a corporate attorney. Her mother, Lisa, a hippie, once wrote for the soap opera "Guiding Light". The two divorced when Röhm was 8 or 9.

She graduated from St. Andrew's-Sewanee School and attended Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York, where she studied Writing and European History.

Röhm, who made "Maxim" magazine's "Hot 100" list in 2002, had her first major television role as Dorothy "Dorf" Hayes on the soap opera "One Life to Live" (1997). She also had recurring role on "Angel" as Detective Kate Lockley and a regular role on the TNT drama "Bull" before being cast in "Law & Order". She left the series in 2005.

Röhm gave birth to her daughter, Easton August Anthony Wooster, on April 11, 2008. She was twice nominated in 2002 and 2004 for the Actor award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for "Law & Order" (1990), shared with Angie Harmon, Jesse L. Martin, S. Epatha Merkerson, Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston and Dianne Wiest, and shared with Jesse L. Martin, S. Epatha Merkerson, Jerry Orbach, Fred Dalton Thompson and Sam Waterston, respectively.
