- Rebel Legion
The Rebel Legion is a worldwide fan-created organization dedicated to the creation and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of
Star Wars fans inRebel Alliance costume. Formed by Tony Troxell in 2001 as a sister organization to the 501stStormtrooper Legion, the group now boasts over 1,600 members in 19 countries (as of 2007). Members of the Rebel Legion often put their "fame" to use at numerous charity and community events in full costume and character. Rebel Legion has 20 'bases' of members in the USA, a further 8 established bases in Europe, with three bases in Asia Pacific and South America. Some of the fundamental conditions of being part of the Rebel Legion are that members must be 18 years of age or older and their costumes are of professional quality. Members should appear to have 'walked off the screen' when portraying characters and are 'enlisted' to the group by meeting key costume standards set by the group. Members are actively encouraged to improve or expand their costumes within the community, but the club requirement is that they own at least one 'good guy' costume to remain a member.
