Karate High School is an American post-hardcore band from the San Francisco Bay Area of California, fronted by multi-instrumentalist and producer Paul McGuire. On March 21, 2006 the band released their debut album, "Arcade Rock". Karate High School's second album, "The League Of Tomorrow", was released on September 4, 2007, which further honed the band's layered, keyboard-driven style of alternative rock. The band played all of the west coast dates in America and Canada on The Warped Tour in 2007 on the Ernie Ball Stage.

Members

Karate High School was formed by Paul McGuire, and he writes all the music and lyrics for the band. Ray Bautista is the only other founding member of the group, and has been in the band since Arcade Rock. For recording purposes, Paul produced both records and played all the instruments on The League Of Tomorrow. For touring purposes, the lineup has changed dramatically over the course of the last two years, with various people filling the roles of drummer, bassist and guitarist. Karate High School's current lineup is:

Tour

* From june 20th to July 23 KHS was on tour with The crunk band Brokencyde on the "We Make it Rain tour". This tour went from the west coast to the east coast and back to Cali.

* Starting November 8th is the "How to Fake Your Death tour". KHS is on tour with I Set My Friends On Fire and You, Me And Everyone We Know.

*The origins of the band's name was revealed in an interview with Paul McGuire, "I'm a huge fan of terrible, campy science fiction and horror movies. From Ed Wood to the Troma films, it's an admitted guilty pleasure. With that said, I chose the name because I wanted something that would evoke that type of imagery. The second runner-up was Cannibalistic Underground Humanoid Dwellers, but I figured since that was already the name of a great movie, I'd get my pants sued off.
