Benson Mhlongo (born November 9 1980 in Alexandra, Gauteng) is a South African football (soccer) defensive midfielder and defender for Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League and South Africa.

Mhlongo is nominally a midfielder but he has made central defence, where he enjoys a good understanding with captain Michael Manzini, his home in the past two seasons.
