David E. Williams Middle School is located in Kennedy Township, Pennsylvania, and is part of the Montour School District. Because the administration is always exploring new ways to better the educational experience for Montour students, a 70-member committee was formed to make the middle school better for the future. A feasibility study and plans for extensive renovation were presented to the School Board, who approved the plans in the fall of 1997. Seven-hundred eighty students continue to see the benefits of this state-of-the-art facility, which includes a new library, expanded cafeteria, new science labs, music rehearsal space, and wiring for computers in every room.
David E. Williams is divided into grade-level teams to create a school-within-a-school atmosphere and encourage closer student-teacher relationships. Common team planning helps instructors coordinate lessons that help students develop skills while nurturing their inquisitive tendencies. This cutting-edge educational environment encourages students to be curious and proactive and positions them as leaders for the next millennium. David E. Williams Middle School now consists of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade with two parts to the building, the 7-8 side and the 5-6 side. The 8th grade side was built when the 5th grade was added on from the elementary schools. On November 20, 2009, ex-student Cameron Stewart was inducted into the David E. Williams Middle School Hall of Fame, along with Jeffrey Lowden, and computer teacher Trent Karlik.
