cable chan 1 = Channel 42Axess TV is a Swedish television channel belonging to the . It is devoted to current affairs, science and cultural programming and broadcasts in the Weekends in the ground based TV-network and 7 days per week in the cable natwork.
The Ax:son Johnson Foundation applied for a license to broadcast in the
Swedish digital terrestrial television network in the autumn of 2005. The channel was awarded a license to broadcast free-to-air in the Weekends in February 2006, with Aftonbladet using the Weekday space of the same stream (what would later becomeAftonbladet TV7 ).Trial broadcasts started on May 27. The first weekend contained the opera "
Dialogues of the Carmelites ", the British sitcom "Yes Minister ", a disussion programme and a documentary. Longweather forecast s filled most of the schedule. After a few weekends, the trials were cut down to include only the weather forecasts and a nightly episode of "Yes, Minister".The channel had a full launch on September 23 with a cultural strand on Saturdays and a current affairs strand on Sundays. Many Swedish journalists had joined to host programmes in the channel including
Nils-Petter Sundgren ("Nils-Petters..."),Lennart Persson ("Veckans debatt"),Åke Ortmark ("Ortmark"),Thomas Gür ("Global Axess"),Anders Hellner ("Dokumentär Utifrån") andNiklas Ekdal ("Studio Ekdal"). In the beginning, the channel only had male presenters, with the exception of thecontinuity announcer Susanne Delastacia . EventuallySusanna Popova joined the channel to host "Åsiktsmaskinen".References
