Adam FitzRoy

Adam FitzRoy

Adam FitzRoy was the illegitimate son of Edward II of England. He accompanied his father in the Scottish campaigns of 1322, and died shortly afterwards on September 18, 1322.

Adam is mentioned in Edward II's Wardrobe account of 1322 as "Ade filio domini Regis bastardo", "Adam, bastard son of our lord the king". He was provided with military equipment for the Scottish campaign of that year, but was accompanied by his tutor Hugh Chastilloun. This suggests he was somewhere in his teens, born between about 1305 and 1310.

The identity of Adam's mother is not known.
