Louis Seeger (1798-1865) was a German equestrian who published several books and was very influential on the development of
dressage . Trained underMax Ritter von Weyrother , his methods were highly influenced by the greatde la Gueriniere . Additionally, Seeger passed on this knowledge through his riding school in Germany, the first private school in Berlin, and his students includedGustav Steinbrecht .His book "System der Reitkunst" ("System of the Art of Riding"), published in 1844, received the gold medal. He also published the book "Herr Baucher und seine Kuenste" ("Monsieur Baucher and his Methods") in 1852, criticizing
Francois Baucher 's training techniques, after he had watched the French rider and was given the chance to ride several of the horses produced by the man. Also published in the same year was "Ein ernstes Wort an Deutschlands Reiter" ("An honest word to Germany's riders"), again criticizing the methods of Baucher.ources
