Prince Murat was a title created by Emperor Napoleon I for his brother-in-law
Joachim Murat who would serve asKing of Naples . On the5 December 1812 Joachim's second son Lucien was created Prince ofPontecorvo (anenclave at theKingdom of Naples ) in succession to Jean-Baptiste Jules Bernadotte by an Imperial Decree.
