Sohag University

Sohag University is an independent university in Egypt. It is located in Sohag, on the eastern bank of the Nile.

History

Sohag University became an independent university in 2006. Before 2006, it was part of another university.

There are currently seven colleges in Sohag University, as well as future plans to found more colleges to better serve the community. Dr. Mostafa Kamal, formerly dean of Assiut College of Science, is the first president of the university.
