United States House of Representatives election in Alaska, 2006

The Alaska Congressional election of 2006 was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006. The term of the state's sole Representative to the United States House of Representatives will expire on January 3, 2007. The winning candidates will serve a two-year term from January 3, 2007, to January 3, 2009. The primary elections were held on August 22, 2006.


=At-large Congressional District=

Incumbent Republican Congressman Don Young has been in office since 1973. He defeated Democratic challenger Diane Benson, an author and theater director, in the general election. Young did not face a primary challenge, while Benson won in a crowded field.
