Alaska's At-large congressional district comprises the entire state of Alaska. This Congressional district has the largest area and lowest population density of any district in the United States. It has been represented by Republican Don Young since 1973.

Election results

This district is normally considered safely Republican, because no Democrat has been elected since 1972, and because incumbent Don Young hasn't faced a serious challenge since 1990, when Valdez mayor John Devens nearly defeated him. George W. Bush received 61% of the vote in this district in United States presidential election, 2004. However, allegations of corruption against Young have led Democrats to target this race in 2008.
