yes stars 3 is an Israeli television channel carried by the Israeli satellite television provider - "yes", which broadcasts American and British TV shows. The channel aired on March 4, 2007 and broadcasts the shows' new episodes on weeknights (Sundays - Thursdays), and its re-runs on weekdays and weekends (Fridays - Saturdays).

The channel is a part of re-brand the foreign TV shows channels broadcast on "yes".
yesSTARS - aired only on March 5, 2006 - expanded to 3 channels: yes stars 1, yes stars 2 and "yes stars 3". The 3 channels aired on March 4, 2007. "yes+", which was another channel that broadcast American and British TV shows, has been cancelled on March 3, 2007.

Opposed to yes stars 1 and yes stars 2, this channel is actually what was "channel 3" - aired on channel 30 on "yes". The channel moved to channel 14, changed its name to "yes stars 3" and on primetime it airs exclusive shows of "yes". At the rest of the day, it broadcasts syndications of shows broadcast exclusively on "yes", re-runs of the shows, and common shows which are broadcast both on "yes" and "HOT", like it was before the re-brand.

Because of the channel format, it usually airs "yes" exclusive shows on weeknights (Sundays-Thursdays) at 22:00.

As of February 3, 2008, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - which aired so far on "yes stars 1" - airs on 22:30 and Late Night with Conan O'Brien - which aired so far on "yes stars 2" - airs on 23:15.

On March 14, 2008, as part of a re-brand of the television shows channels on "yes", "yes stars 3" obtained a new logo.

Broadcasting Formats

"yes stars 3" airs shows in two formats:
* Letterbox (4:3)
* Widescreen (16:9)

In order to watch widescreen (16:9) shows on a letterbox TV, there are 3 options to see the picture:
* 4:3 Letterbox (Widescreen with black bars - Original Aspect Ratio)
* 16:9 (Anamorphic Widescreen)
* 4:3 (Pan & scan)

Choosing the format of the picture is in the digital decoder setup. The setup does not effect shows that are not broadcast in Widescreen.
