Mike Brown (born September 4 1985) is an English Rugby Union player. His career really started to take off when he was at college. He played for Peter Symonds 1st XV and played alongside players such as George Daniels, Phil White, John Milburn, Patrick Leahy, Graham Dawson (Co-founder of MMU rugby union Team) and the Crab Twins. He usually plays at Fullback for Harlequins.

Career

Brown made his First XV debut for Quins during the 2005/06 season, scoring a try on debut in the pre-season friendly against London Irish on August 12 2005. He was part of the England Under 21 team that won the 2006 Six Nations Grand Slam and also competed in the Under 21 World Championships later that year.

In the 2006-2007 season although he is still in Quins' Academy side he has established himself as first choice full back and has also been capped by the England Saxons in the first two matches of the year. A fantastic season by the aspiring Fullback resulted in him collecting 9 tries and achieving a place on the Sky Sports Dream Team.

In May 2007 Mike Brown got selected for England to tour South Africa. He luckily wasn't affected by the food poisoning which some squad members picked up and won his first full England cap in the record 58-10 defeat to South Africa. On 1st June 2008 he also was in the starting XV for England against the Barbarians at Twickenham but this was a non-cap match.

He was called into the England Saxons side that defeated Ireland A on February 1, 2008.cite web|url=http://www.england-rugby.com/englandrugby/index.cfm?fuseaction=News.News_Detail&storyid=18739|title=England Saxons squad for Ireland A match|publisher=RFU|date=2008-01-23|accessdate=2008-02-05] cite web|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/english/7217616.stm|title=Varndell shines in Saxons victory|publisher=BBC|date=2008-02-02|accessdate=2008-02-05] cite web|url=http://www.quins.co.uk/newspage.ink?nid=38431&newstype=n&matchid=&Refid=&storytype=RU|title=Mike Brown and England Saxons|publisher=Quins|date=2008-02-04|accessdate=2008-02-05]

New Zealand controversy

During the tour to New Zealand, Brown and several other England players were allegedly involved in a sexual assault late at night on 14 June 2008 after a drinking session following defeat in their first match.
