Toddbrook Reservoir was built in 1831 as a feeder for the Peak Forest Canal. The reservoir is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The reservoir is a habitat for herons, ducks and other animals and fish. Also many rare mosses and liverworts grow on the shores. The reservoir is also used for sailing and angling. It hoasts many sailing events including DYS (Derbysire Youth Sailing).The reservoir is owned by British Waterways and is a feeder reservoir for the goyt valley canal system along with coombs reservoir.
