Joseph Burr Tiffany

Joseph Burr Tiffany

Joseph Burr Tiffany was a prominent American interior designer of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, best known for ornate Victorian mansions in New York and in the Hudson Valley. He designed the interior of Wilderstein, a well-known mansion in Rhinebeck, New York and also contributed to the design of some Steinway pianos.

Joseph Burr Tiffany was a cousin of Louis Comfort Tiffany, the businessman/artist who created Tiffany stained-glass and lamps; Louis Comfort Tiffany was the son of Charles Lewis Tiffany, the founder of New York jewelers Tiffany & Co.
