The 1997 Davis Cup was the 86th edition of the most important tournament between nations in men's
tennis . Group IV was added to the regional Zones, with promotion and relegation between it and Group III. A total of 127 nations participated in the tournament. In the final, Sweden defeated the United States at theScandinavium inGothenburg ,Sweden , on 28-30 November, giving Sweden their 6th title.World Group
