Skid Mark Productions (SMP) is one of Canada’s fastest growing independent radio syndication and distribution companies. SMP has existed for since 2002. SMP strives to keep creativity, quality and service a top priority. There are over 100 radio stations in Canada that carry SMP shows.
Stations and affiliates of SMP are delivered fun, creative, enhanced programming that listeners really enjoy. Advertisers find SMP delivers diverse audiences in many market types. Where did the name come from? In the beginning there were about 10 possibilities for a name. During a heated discussion over the name, the studio cat walked in and meowed his two cents. SKID the cat is all white with three black tire-like marks on his head. The executive team took SKID’s meow as a sign and named the company after him.

Country Gold
Country Gold is the flagship and original show from SMP. Country Gold is a two-hour weekly show that features artists from the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Interviews and interactive features set this show separate from regular jock-talk. County Gold can be heard any day of the week on over 40 stations across Canada. Hosted by Will Brown and April O’Neal a young flavour is added to the biggest country hits of all time. Country Gold is a proud member of the CCMA. The target audience for Country Gold is adults age 25 – 54.

Country Gold Minute
The Country Gold Minute is a five-minute daily feature that is heard on many stations. It normally plays during the morning show or afternoon drive and is hosted by Will Brown, co-host of Country Gold. The Country Gold Minute takes listeners down memory lane with this day in county music history and a song from the 70s, 80s or early 90s. The Country Gold Minute is a proud member of the CCMA. The target audience for the Country Gold Minute is adults age 25 – 54.

Sounds Canadian
Sounds Canadian is a weekly one-hour Canadian Country show that debuted in June 2007. The show is 100 per cent Canadian content following CTRC regulations. Sounds Canadian delivers the latest music news and information from the world of Canadian Country Music. It provides a stage for up-and-coming and regional artists that cannot always get national airplay. Sounds Canadian is hosted by Canadian Country Star, Carolyn Dawn Johnson. The target audience for Sounds Canadian is adults age 18 – 34.

Blues Own
The Blues Own is a weekly two-hour show that joined SMP in 2006. Since 1988 the Blues Own has strived to play the best in traditional and contemporary blues, holding a soft spot for Canadian Blues, and especially the Blues of Atlantic Canada. To this effect The Blues Own has been nominated for an ECMA. The Blues Own not only plays the blues, it talks the blues with exclusive interviews, Blues News, details and support on regional concerts and events, and more. The Blues Own is hosted by Blaine Morrison and was nominated in 2007 for ECMA Broadcast of the year. The target audience for the Blues Own is adults age 25 – 54.

The Amazing 80s is a two-hour weekly show that features music from the 1980s. This is one of the two shows hosted by MG Kelly that is distributed by SMP. MG Kelly is a recipient of Billboard Magazine’s National Radio Personality of the Year and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Each hour of the show is guaranteed to have 45 minutes per hour of music. There is also a daily feature called the Amazing 80s Daily Rewind. The daily feature is five minutes and airs Monday to Friday. The target audience for the Amazing 80s is adults age 18 – 34.

American Hit List
The American Hit List is a three-hour weekly show that feature music from 1964 – 1973. This is one of the two shows hosted by MG Kelly that is distributed by SMP. MG Kelly is a recipient of Billboard Magazine’s National Radio Personality of the Year and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. There is also a five-minute daily show called the American Hit List Daily Time Warp that airs Monday to Friday. The target audience for the American Hit List is adults age 35 – 54.

Back to the 70s is a four-hour weekly show hosted by
Charlie Tuna . The primary music focus is 1970 – 1977. The show includes Charlie’s original interviews with the top recording artists and celebrities of the 1970s.
