Adrian Littlejohn (born Wolverhampton, England, 26 September, 1970) is a former professional footballer, who played as a midfielder and a striker. He currently coaches the Sheffield United U14 side while pursuing [http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/content/articles/2006/12/20/signupnow_feature.shtml a course in Swedish Massage at the Gladys Buxton Adult Education Centre, near Sheffield] . In June 2007, he signed for Retford United.

Footballing career

Littlejohn started his footballing career at West Bromwich Albion, but failed to play a match and was release in 1989, so he could search for first team football. Littlejohn stayed in his native West Midlands and joined Walsall prior to the 1989-90 season, Littlejohn played 44 league games, scoring 1 league goal in two seasons. Prior to the 1991-92 season, Littlejohn joined Sheffield United, where he played a part in "The Blades" seasons in the FA Premier League, Littlejohn played in the first ever FA Premier League season, scoring 8 goals in 27 games. In the following seasons, Littlejohn became less of a regular and decided to join Plymouth Argyle in pursuit of regular football, Littlejohn was the top scorer for Argyle in his first ever season at Home Park, the 1995-96 season, which helped Plymouth finish 4th in the 3rd division, just one point of the automatic promotion, with Plymouth getting promoted via the play-offs, which meant that Argyle got promoted to the 2nd division (3rd tier), this was also Neil Warnock's 5th career promotion. The two following seasons Littlejohn was involved in relegation battles and in the and Littlejohn had joined Oldham Athletic in March 1998, to escape a relegation battle with Argyle on transfer deadline day, where he joined old Pilgrims boss Neil Warnock, scoring a goal on his début against Watford. After 21 league games and 5 goals, Littlejohn joined Bury, where he teamed up with Warnock again, scoring 14 league goals in 99 league games. Littlejohn rejoined Sheffield United in 2001 for his second spell with the club, again teaming up with Warnock, playing three league games, scoring no goals. This made his United total to 72 league matches and 12 league goals. Spells with Port Vale, Lincoln City, Rushden & Diamonds, Mansfield Town followed. He wound his career down with a few games for Leek Town whom he joined in [http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/news/index.php?newsmode=FULL&nid=34087 March 2006] and left in October 2006. In June 2007, Adrian agreed to return to playing at Retford United for his old teammate Peter Duffield.
