Brian Edward McBride (born 1970,
Irving ,Texas ) is a musician best known as one half of the duoStars of the Lid . He has also released a solo album, "When The Detail Lost Its Freedom", onKranky Records using his own name. McBride moved toAustin, Texas in 1990 where he metAdam Wiltzie , forming Stars Of The Lid in the early '90s. He also worked with the now defunctPilot Ships .He currently lives in

Brian is the Assistant Debate Coach at the
University of Southern California .He joined the Trojan Debate Squad in 2006. A former debater at theUniversity of Texas at Austin who enjoyed a great deal of success, including a Quarterfinalist finish at the 1993NDT , Brian has emerged as one of the nation's finest coaches. Brian has played important roles with many successful teams, including Northwestern's 2003 NDT Champion and the 2004Redlands NDT Quarterfinalist team.Brian is currently completing his doctoral dissertation from
Northwestern University . During the summer he directs the University of Texas National Institute of Forensics (UTNIF) summerdebate camp .Discography
