History

* 4 November 1895: Tsuchiura Station opens.
* 17 April 1918: Tsukuba Railway Line opens from Tsuchiura Station to Iwase Station.
* 26 October 1943: Three trains crash at Tsuchiura killing 110 people.
* 1 April 1987: Tsukuba Railway Line closes.
