Mutschellen Pass . This municipality is bounded byRudolfstetten-Friedlisberg ,Widen (pronunciationL: vee-din), andZufikon . Berikon has a school and the nearest Kantonsschule (canton school), a secondary school, is in Wohlen.History
Berikon was mentioned for the first time in 1153 as a court place "Berchheim". The name of the place changed its name with the time, of Berchheim über Bergheim, Berchan, Berkein to Berikon.
In 1415 Berikon was divided into Niederberikon and Oberberikon. In 1798 both municipalities came to the short-lived
Canton of Baden . During the establishment of the Canton of Aargau in 1803, the two municipalities were reunited and joined the district of Bremgarten.In 1902, the
Bremgarten-Dietikon-Bahn was opened and Berikon received a connection to the outside world. Until far in the 20th century Berikon was a rural village populated 900 inhabitants in 1950 with a boom of construction activity. Within thirty years the total population increased. Berikon grew together with the neighbour municipalities and is today part of the Agglomeration of Zurich.Population

The road named Wohlen-Bremgarten-Dietikon, which passes across the Mutschellen, is one of the most-used roads of Switzerland. TheUrdorf freeway is 7 km away.
