He left Dungarvan United for Celtic before moving to Livingston. He made an immediate impact as he helped the Blues to the First Division title in 2002, contributing thirteen goals in the process.
2006
Sullivan spent the 2006 season with
Cork City F.C. . Cork were defending the title they won in 2005 when Sullivan was scoring for Waterford Utd but Vinny did not play much. He left the club in December after coachDamien Richardson agreed to cancel his contract.Back in Waterford
Vinny came back to the Blues but left Waterford United in 2005.
2007
Sullivan found himself back in the Premier Division with Waterford after
Shelbourne were relegated. His first game turned out to be against Cork City.
