Eliran Avni (Born 1975, Israel) is an Israeli Pianist.

Biography

Born in Israel in 1975, Eliran Avni studied at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music with Marina Bondarenko. He received both his BM and MM degrees studying with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School. Currently, he is working on his Doctorate dissertation with Carl Schachter.

At the age of 17, Mr. Avni won first prize in both the Clairmont and Rachmaninoff Competitions in Israel. Those led to an early debut with Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta performing Rachmaninoff's first piano concerto.

In 2005, Avni recorded the complete piano works of Israeli composer Avner Dorman at Tanglewood’s Ozawa Hall. The recording was produced by Grammy Award Winning Producer David Frost, and was released on the Naxos Records label.
