Salim Kumar was born on 10 October 1969, in North Paravoor, Chittatukara. He began his schooling from Govt:L.P. school , high school at Govt:Boys High School,North Paravoor, Chittatukara. Later he completed his graduation from Maharajas College, Ernamkulam. He had won three times as a University winner in Mimicry.
He chose Cochin Kalabhavan, and later moved to Cochin Saagar to further cultivate his skills in this field. He have worked as Asianet performer in Comicola.
His first step in film industry was through the film 'Ishtamaanu nooru vattam', a family entertainer directed by Sidhik Shameer. Further He got numerous opportunity in film industry . He earned fame through his film 'Achanurangatha Veedu'. He won the State Second Best Actor Award for this film. And, later received Sathyan Award and Bharathan Award for the same film.
For about Four years, He made himself busy with professional drama in cochin ( Arathi Theatres ),where he performed.
In palakkad, he owns a farm where you will find different breeds of goat( Seerohi, Jabanapyari, Vittal, Berburry ),Duck, Goose and even cow. The farm is also filled with coconut trees and chicken. His hobby is Photoshop Designing. He is an actor, he pays more than what he gets and has been trying to achieve his goal.
He has written a Biology named 'Ishwara Vazhakhillelo'. He now leads a happy life with his wife Sunitha and two sons, Chandu and Aromal.
