Róża Maria Herman (born
16 January 1902 - died 1995) - a Polishchess master.In June 1935, she took 4th in 1st Polish Championship in Warsaw (
Regina Gerlecka won). In August 1935, she tied for 6-7th , in the 5thWomen's World Chess Championship in Warsaw (Vera Menchik won).She took 11th in women's super tournament at Semmering 1936 (

World War II , Herman took 16th in 8th Women's World Chess Championship at Moscow 1949/50 (Ludmila Rudenko won). She was twice Polish Champion at Łódź 1949 and Torun 1950, and Sub-Champion at Częstochowa 1951.Awarded the WIM title in 1950.
She was a doctor of medicine, and lived in
