Hat Samran ( _th. หาดสำราญ) is a district ("Amphoe") in the southern part of Trang Province, Thailand.

History

The minor district ("King Amphoe") Hat Samran was established on April 30 1994 by splitting it from Palian district [cite journal|journal=Royal Gazette|volume=111|issue=42 ง|pages=29|title=ประกาศกระทรวงมหาดไทย เรื่อง แบ่งเขตท้องที่อำเภอปะเหลียน จังหวัดตรัง ตั้งเป็นกิ่งอำเภอหาดสำราญ|url=http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2537/D/042/29.PDF|date=May 26 1994|language=Thai] .

Following a decision of the Thai government on May 15 2007, all of the 81 minor districts were to be upgraded to full districts [cite news|url=http://www.manager.co.th/Politics/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=9500000055625|publisher=Manager Online|title=แถลงผลการประชุม ครม. ประจำวันที่ 15 พ.ค. 2550|language=Thai] . Geography

To the east is Palian district, to the north Kantang district. To the west and south is the Andaman Sea.

Administration

The district is subdivided into 3 subdistricts ("tambon"), which are further subdivided into 21 villages ("muban"). There are no municipal ("thesaban") areas, and 3 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
