Falling subject to some administrative errors concerning some of his production, Ryan left with his country grammar to co-write and produce for former Arista Recording artist, Toya. Producing over 50 percent of the album her most popular hit I DO! burned up the radio waves and excelled in international markets. In 2001 a remake of Patti Labelle’s Love Need and Want You landed in the hands of friend, Nelly, and Dilemma was featured on his album, Nellyville. The single landed at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles & Tracks, Hot Rap Tracks and on the Hot 100 as the first rap song to hold the #1 spot for 12 consecutive weeks earning a Grammy for Best R&B and Rap Collaboration.
The success led Ryan to work with O’Ryan, Bow Wow, Monica, 112, Mario, J-Kwon, SunNy, and Rubben Studdard. In 2005, after living in Miami during their wealthy high, Ryan and his then partner moved to Atlanta, the Mecca for black entrepreneurs, and branded themselves, NIMRODS. There they produced records that helped close label deals for Universal Artists Miss Penelope Jones, former Jive recording artist, Noah and recorded with the industry’s most controversial artist Ma$e. After a little more than two years in Atlanta, the duo experienced an alarming amount of instability and Ryan decided to leave the production team leaving his equipment and an external drive filled with raw beats. Walking away from talk of a production deal and label merger. Ryan was prepared to prove he could succeed without being a NIMROD.
Ryan’s emotional decision caused him to take a month off to regroup. Once his confidence was restored, Ryan emerged from his Loft apartment and Ghost was born. Ghost immediately formed his team by enlisting two managers and Recording Engineer. He returned to the studio to fulfill his prior commitments. Once they were complete and Ghost Music, LLC was official Ryan instantly earned the attention and support of several label executives. He immediately started recording with Q. Da Kid (So So Def), T. Waters (So So Def), Q. (112), Blak Jak (Universal-Republic.), 2XL (Tommy Boy), JR (Universal), London (Key-Player Music), Pretty Ricky (Atlantic), Ali Vegas (Atlantic) and began collaborating with other notable producers. The “Familiar and Undeniable” sound is produced by Ryan Bowser and he is, GHOST, the music industry’s best-kept secret.
