Lord Nahar

Lord Nahar or Nahar is a fictional character in the fantasy novel trilogy The Echorium Sequence by Katherine Roberts and features in the second and third novels; Crystal Mask and Dark Quetzal. Lord Nahar played the part of the leader of the Kalerei in both Crystal Mask and Dark Quetzal. He has a wife and a son; named Erihan; who also features in the second and third novels. He plays a large part in Crystal Mask helping destroy the Khizalace in the Sunless Valley.

Character introduction

Lord Nahar first appears in Crystal Mask; leader of the Kalerei and first meets the main characters in an encounter near the entrance to the Pass of Silence. The Singers and Nahar do not get to a good relationship but they work together to destroy the Khizalace. Nahar appears a fair and honourable man and a sworn enemy of the Harai. The Singers help reveal the truth as to where his lost son has disappeared to which leads to the Harai in the Sunless Valley. The Harai being another tribe native to the Purple Plains; where the Kalerei occupy.

The Kalerei and the Singers work together to destroy the Khizalace, reuniting with their loved ones once the destruction of the Khizalace and Yashra and Frazhin's domain was carried out. In Crystal Mask, the story ends informing the reader that Shaiala; one of the main characters in Crystal Mask goes to live with Erihan, son of Nahar and Prince of the Kalerei.
