County Kerry , Ireland. It is located in the deep south on theIveragh peninsula on southwest coast ofIreland nearValentia Island . Caherciveen is connected to the Irish road network by the N70 national secondary route. Caherciveen has a population of 1294 (CSO 2006).The town has a cathedral which is the only Church in the country named after a lay person (
Daniel O'Connell ). It is situated on the riverFertha and on the slopes ofBeentee Mountain .
