List of thermal conductivities

In physics, thermal conductivity, k, is the intensive property of a material that indicates its ability to conduct heat.

First, we define heat conduction by the formula::: H=frac{Delta Q}{Delta t}=k imes A imesfrac{Delta T}{x}where frac{Delta Q}{Delta t} is the rate of heat flow, "k" is the thermal conductivity, "A" is the total surface area of conducting surface, Δ"T" is temperature difference and "x" is the thickness of conducting surface separating the 2 temperatures.

Thus, rearranging the equation gives thermal conductivity,

:: k=frac{Delta Q}{Delta t} imesfrac{1}{A} imesfrac{x}{Delta T}

(Note: frac{Delta T}{x} is the temperature gradient)

This list makes up the data for the smaller list provided in Thermal conductivity.

Please note that mixtures may have variable thermal conductivities due to its composition.
