Pomponio had an interest in music that begin at the age of 12. After listening to guitarist
Randy Rhoads on the album "Blizzard of Ozz " at the age of 15, he began taking rock, jazz, and classical guitar lessons. In 1989, he formed a rock band with life-long friend Shaun McConnell and began aggressively performing throughout the mid-western club circuit. The band, Tempo Tantrum, grew to be very popular as aprogressive metal alternative to thegrunge music scene at the time. In 1994, Pomponio earned an endorsement deal with Lee Jackson amplification. Pomponio saw the band's greatest success in the European rock markets throughout the 1990s. The 1995 album, "Into The Realm", was featured on the German and Netherlands Metal 100 charts.Discography
