The European Treaty of 1841

The European Treaty of 1841

The European Treaty of 1841, signed by multiple European countries in 1841, created a unified front against fraud. Fraud, being defined by Merriam Webster as "intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right", includes the forging of legal documents, as well as the falsification of legal documents. Signed by the countries of Belgium, France, Austria, Great Britain, Switzerland, Hungary, Russia, and Germany, this treaty dissolved soon after the start of World War II.
