Kasson-Mantorville High School (KMHS) is a high school located in Kasson, Minnesota serving students from both Kasson and neighboring Mantorville. It is the only high school in Minnesota School District #204, and is home of the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets (or Komets), whose school colors are (royal) blue and white. The School's song is sung to the tune "Washington and Lee Swing."

ports and other extracurricular activities

KMHS belongs to the Hiawatha Valley League conference in the Minnesota State High School League for tournament play.

KMHS participates in most sports offered by the Hiawatha Valley League; namely, baseball, boys' and girls' basketball, football, golf, hockey, boys' and girls' soccer, softball, track and field, girls' volleyball, wrestling, and lacrosse.

KMHS additionally offers band, choir, and cheerleading programs, as well as a dance team.

The drama program holds a fall play, a winter one-act play, and a spring play, occasionally performing a musical instead. The one-act play for KMHS is entered for competition in MSHSL Section 1, Sub-section 4.

Building

KMHS is the largest school in the area in which the middle and high schools share a building. The middle school section, which holds grades 7-8, has a capacity of about 300 students. The high school, grades 9-12, can hold approximately 600. The middle and high school programs also share certain areas, such as art and FACS.

Additionally, the building contains two separate gymnasiums. The North Gym, which is larger, is used both for middle and high school lunch and for middle school P.E. The South Gym is used for high school P.E. and also contains an attached stage for plays and music concerts, since the building does not house an auditorium.

A new middle school is being built for grades 5-8 and is expected to be completed by September 2009.
