MSP Solai Nadar Memorial Higher Secondary school

MSP Solai Nadar Memorial Higher Secondary school is a higher secondary school located in Dindigul, Tamilnadu, India.

History

The school was established in 1966 with 55 students. Within 5 years of its existence, it reached to 55 staff members and 1500 students. It is a boys' school which has a student strength of 3000+. This school follows very strict discipline on attendance and cultural behaviors from its start-up.

Location

The school is located in GTN Salai.

It is located nearer to the Soundararaja Mill Administration Office. It is a Government aided Higher Secondary School which is running the clasess from 6 to 12 with lot of sections in both Tamil and English medium.

Mr.Rathanapandiyan, (former Headmaster) is the Correspondent for this school , he also got the National Award for his teaching.

The school is having a good hostel facility, Library, Labs (physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology), football, tennis, hockey, Basketball, Shuttle, badminton and Volleyball court.

Through the Entrance examination mark system students are getting admissions in the school.

The School conduct state level Basket ball tournament every year.

It is one of the best boys school in Tamil Nadu.

Annual Day/Parents Day (Interval: Yearly)

Being the inmate of the hostel, one can not forget the cultural events, having the delicious food with parents, opportunity to stay with parents in the hostel on Annual day. Chief guests for this event for the days i stayed includes Disctric collector, Finance minister of state, etc which will give one the right impression about the school

Achievements

Few of the key achievements i could remember are the 100% success rate in public exams, had already produced state first student, one of the few schools(4) identified for merit scholored students in Tamil Nadu, and the annual prizes from the old students association

Also hosts the tournaments for Volleyball, Kabaadi and Ball batminton which will go for a week. Winners are awarded with round robin trophy. Main funda behind this event is to motivate the young students to participate in sporting events.

Participates in Zone level sports events and won the award many times which shows the sporting strength.

One will wonder the lab facility available for students which can be compared to colleges

Student - Staff relationship:

Every year before apprearing for public exams, each student gets an individual blessings from every staff in the school with the sweets. It is tradition and arranged as a function and you get an opportunity to hear the motivational speech from the leading skilled person.

Farewell function for every staff's retirement and the gift distribution. Emotional day for teacher as well his students knowing it the day. You can not stop getting emotional. I couldn't.

Like every one has a slogan, this school has its which is written in big letters on the wall "Yennal pallikku perumai, pallial enakku perumai" (Tamil). I am proud because of my school, vice versa.

Hostel

Place where you can learn the discipline. Parents can relax them for the fact of having the safe hands for their children feature.

Excellent food at really cheap hostel price is the manthra of the school which lets every one can come think about this highly qualified school. Especially Dosa's and Kuruma are the most favourite food and not the idly/sambar combination :)

I should not missout mentioning these personalities (these are few heroes among students from staff members in my school days). First correspondent Mr. Manickam Nadar (always supports students- if we need to have a moview played on week end he nods his head, almost a step father), and the first Head master Mr.Rathanapandiyan (National award winner - but strict also supports students but not directly, we used to afraid 'coz of his giant physic but nice to approach, who with the help of 55 students made the revolution), hostel warden Marimuthu who dedicated most of his life for the students, and etc.
