Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants

The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) is the leading professional association dedicated to enhancing the success of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). Founded in 1909, the VSCPA has approximately 8,300 members who work in public accounting, industry, government and education. The VSCPA serves as a central source of information for its members, offering a wealth of education programs, representing the interests of CPAs and the public before legislators and regulators, and working to enhance and promote the CPA profession with the general public, media, legislators, educators and students.

Through its award-winning Financial Fitness program, the VSCPA also provides a wealth of pro bono, community service programs designed to improve the financial health of Virginians. Virginia CPAs reach out and assist the public year-round through programs such as Nonprofit Pro Bono Assistance, Speakers Bureau, Virginia Disaster Recovery Help, Virginia Military Tax Help, "Ask a CPA" E-mail Program (free tax and personal finance assistance), tax season resources, free consumer workshops on money management topics, and more. For more information, visit http://www.FinancialFitness.org.

In addition to http://www.vscpa.com, the official, award-winning Web site of the VSCPA, the association offers two sites for the public and manages two professional sites:

FinancialFitness.org: This is the flagship site for the VSCPA's award-winning Financial Fitness campaign to improve the financial health of all Virginians. http://www.FinancialFitness.org

CPAStudentZone.com: This site contains news and information for high schools and college students interested in pursuing a career in accounting, as well as resources for high school and college educators. http://www.CPAStudentZone.com

VSCPA Educational Foundation: This is the official site of the VSCPA Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to performing charitable, educational and public service activities through scholarships, awards and other programs designed to benefit the public at large. http://www.vscpafoundation.com

CPA PAC of Virginia: This is the official site of the CPA Political Action Committee of Virginia, a bipartisan committee that contributes funds to candidates who support CPA interests. It is the financial arm of the VSCPA's advocacy efforts, which also include communicating personally with legislators and providing professional, financial expertise. http://www.cpapacofvirginia.com
