Wayne Tunnicliffe (also known as Wayne Allen or simply Wayne) is a British radio presenter who presents various daytime shows on TFM Radio, and occasional shows on Metro Radio. Both are local commercial radio stations in North East England and owned by Bauer Radio. Wayne was originally born in Derby but moved up to Newcastle upon Tyne when he started DJing at the Ikon Nightclub (now called Liquid Nighclub) in Newcastle where he worked from 1997 - 2000. Wayne's radio career began after being spotted working at the nightclub by one of the Metro Radio bosses. He helped Metro Radio with their live shows from the club and practised in the off air studios while at the station.

Metro Radio

On boxing day 1999, he was asked to cover a show for Metro Radio. After his first show went successfully he covered many other shows before been offered the job to run the Evening Show.

Wayne has also been given the job to present Friday Night Live and Saturday Floorfillers.

During his seven years on the Evening Show, he made great friends with Alan Robson, another Metro Radio presenter who broadcasts the NightOwls show after the Evening slot. As well as broadcasting some special shows together, they pulled many pranks against one another some of which almost lead to Wayne losing his Job.

Wayne still broadcasts Friday Night Live but left the Evening show on Metro in March 2007 as he began his career at TFM Radio, a sister station to Metro which is also owned by Bauer. The networked evening show, "In Demand" began broadcasting soon after his departure from his evening show.

TFM Radio

In March 2007, Wayne was moved to TFM Radio which is based in Stockton on Tees. He currently presents the Top Ten at Ten, a Sunday afternoon and the Saturday Floorfillers shows. TFM Radio requested Wayne used a second name to present the show, and as a tribute to his friend Alan Robson he uses the stage name "Wayne Allen".
