This is a small village in
Chitwan district ofNepal . Before about 1950s, the place was a part of a huge and dense jungle known asCharkoshe-Jhaadi teeming with all kinds of wild animals and plants includingRoyal Bengal Tigers ,one-horned-rhinoceros , phythons, bears, antelopes, and so on, with not a single human being daring to settle in there. Men coming down from the high mountain regions likeLamjung ,Tanahun /Tanhun ,Gorkha etc. started clearing jungles to make space for a new place to live in and to make land for the essential agriculture. It's now the ward number 8 of theMangalpur VDC. It is one of the rapidly growing point of the whole Mangalpur VDC area. It has got a secondary school -Shree Durga Madhyamic Vidyalaya orShree Durga Secondary Highschool , one English medium primary school, a diary factory, a popular co-operative organisation of the local farmers and business men, one youth-club for social work and services and so on. It's close to Narayani river and lies about ten kilometers west from the city ofNarayangarh and about 3 kilometers away fromRampur . This village is a place where one can see a mixture of people from different cultures, ethnicities and origins. There areRai s,Magars ,Gurungs ,Tamangs ,Newars andTharus with their own mother tongues in addition to the people of different castes whose mother tongue is the properNepali language .
