The other notable temple in Madipakkam includes the "Bairava Sai Baba " which is in Ganesh Nagar. This temple is quite old and it is believed that 'Bairav' refers to dog and Sai Baba loved dogs. So the name of the temple is " Bairava Sainath". High rise apartments are coming up in huge numbers. It's very rare nowadays to see an independent house being built. This is certainly going to become even worse since the Railway Station at
Velachery has started operating. The same is nearer than the St. Thomas Mount Station and is expected to take a major load of commuters from Madipakkam towards the main city. The Inner Ring road project work has started on the Madipakkam side connecting the incomplete leg of 6 km to Ashok Nagar.Schools

The Madipakkam Main Road is also referred to as Koot Road because, the main landmark on the western side in this suburb is a point where four major roads meet. This name comes from the Tamil word 'kootu' which means 'junction'. Technically its part of the Medavakkam Main Road, but in Madipakkam its just referred to as Koot Road. The Velachery side of Madipakkam is being referred to as the MRTS Madipakkam due to its proximity to the Velachery Railway Station a project under the
Mass Rapid Transit System (Chennai) .References
