- Phocus
In
Greek mythology , two different people bore the name Phocus.#A Phocus, son of
Aeacus andPsamathe . He was a strong athlete and this ability arose the jealousy of his half-brothers,Peleus andTelamon . Phocus was killed by one of his half-brothers, and his body was hidden in the woods. The tradition varies at this point: 1. Telamon threw aquoit at his head. 2. Telamon killed him with a spear while hunting. 3. Peleus killed him to please his mother,Endeis . Other sources say that (whichever brother was responsible) it was an accident. He had one son:Panopeus . [W.
