Hofje van Willem Heythuijsen

The Hofje van Willem Heythuijsen is a hofje in Haarlem, the Netherlands and was founded in 1650 by Willem Heythuijsen (sometimes spelled Heythuysen). It was one of the few hofjes to be built outside the city walls. It has a 'T' shape and has a garden is next to it. Willem Heythuijsen was an influential member of the Haarlem community in his day. Frans Hals painted a portrait of him that hung in this hofje for centuries.

Unlike many other hofjes, this hofje has always accommodated both male and female inhabitants.
